Traditional Lenten Buns with cream and strawberrie jam

Lenten buns, also known as "fastelavnsboller" in Norwegian or "semlor" in Swedish, are traditional sweet buns enjoyed during the Lenten season, particularly in Scandinavian countries. They are most commonly associated with Shrove Tuesday (Fat Tuesday) or the period leading up to Easter.

 


150 gr butter
5 dl goat milk or normal full cream milk
15 gr dry yeast
150 gr sugar
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
900 gr flour (plain, normal)
